Onomonopoetics of a Puerto Rican Landscape explores how sounds connect us to our homelands, and in the case of the artist, how the sound of the Coquí travels as a representation of cultural identity. The project takes Romero’s field recordings of the Coquí, a small iconic frog native to Puerto Rico, and transmits the sound from the sound station.

Is it your first time hearing the Coqui or have you heard it before in nature? Does it bring forth any memories?
